Around 90% of those in the United States don't reach this daily goal, according to research.

According to the data, the states that eat the most fruit include Vermont (68% of the population), Massachusetts (67.3%), Connecticut (65.9%), New York (65.3%) and Maine (64.8%). The state whose residents each the least amount of fruit on a daily basis is Oklahoma, where 48.4% of the state's population consumes less than 1 1/2 cups daily.
