There are several places in the world that people wish to visit but, do you know that residents of those countries are emigrating to other nations? Well, there could be numerous reasons for doing so. The infographic below tells us all about the high net worth individuals moving out of their native countries.
According to the chart, around 16,000 HNWI Chinese left their country in 2019 to start their life in another country. However, the rate was 2 percent less than the previous years. Around 7,000 high net worth individual Indians also moved out of their homeland to spend their life in a different country. The country also saw a 2 percent decline in the rate of emigrants since previous years.
Turkey and Russia, on the other hand, saw an even higher decline in the HNWI emigration rate i.e., 8 percent and 6 percent respectively. The main reasons for emigration include taxation, work and education opportunities, financial concerns or business purposes. However, some personal concerns such as healthcare facilities, better safety and enhanced security and protection can also lead to the decision of moving out.
Now the country that attracted these high net worth individuals include Australia that welcomed around 12,000 HNWI in 2019, 3 percent up from the previous records. Followed by the USA on the second and Switzerland on the third that attracted 10,800 and 4,000 HNWI.
Because of their pleasant weather, investor programs through which people are granted access to EU residency and citizenship, Greece and Portugal have been in the list of top 10 attractions for HNWI emigrants.
