Starting with the largest body of water the Pacific Ocean, which measures a gargantuan 60 million square miles. The Philippine Sea is the largest sea on the chart at 2,199,000 square miles. The largest lake (which must be surrounded by land to count as a lake) is the Caspian Sea at 143,000 square miles. The longest river system in the world which feeds into the Mediterranean Sea is the Nile - White Nile -Kagera - Nyabarongo - Mwogo - Rukarara river system. It is 4,140 miles long. The largest lake in the world is the Caspian Sea. It is not technically considered a sea because it is completely surrounded by land on all sides. This massive lake has a surface area of more than 143 thousand miles.
