Instagram is one of the biggest social media platforms where people socialize, express themselves, and even run their businesses. The company has made constant efforts to make the platform look the way it is now. The gradual addition of new yet helpful features has increased the users’ engagements and the addition of new users to the platform.
Currently, Facebook-owned Instagram is reported to be working on two new features for the app including, text-to-speech and time left in the expiration of the stories. The text-to-speech feature was first released back in 2018 when the company reached the milestone of 1 billion worldwide users. Instagram believes that this text-to-speech feature is of great help to visually impaired users. Therefore, the company is updating this feature from normal posts to Instagram Reels.

As for the stories’ expiration time feature, this will remind people that their stories will soon disappear from theirs and everyone else’s feed in as soon as the time finishes. Since this feature is under the trial period, it is available only for a few iOS users for now. If it becomes a successful feature, the company will roll it out completely.
