How the 50 Biggest Websites in the United States Performed During the Pandemic

The pandemic shifted how we all live our lives. Much of our work, school and entertainment happened solely online. Which websites benefited the most from the shutdown was a mystery until the team at Semrush put together this graphic from website traffic data. It shows that the website with the highest traffic in 2020 ended up staying at the top for 2021 also, and that was Google. It became the most helpful resource for go-to answers regarding shutdowns and regulations surrounding the pandemic. 

Some websites made an incredible jump in traffic from 2020 to 2021 like Zoom which many people didn't even know about until Covid19 happened. The video conference website had the largest jump in traffic, a 2,091.94% increase. Instructure.com is a learning management system that also had a large jump in traffic as nearly all classrooms turned to internet classes. You can see which other entertainment websites had massive gains throughout the pandemic as well below.
